Fast-A-Thon is an event hosted by Muslim student organizations across North America in order to create awareness about the issue of hunger, about the Islamic way of life, and to raise money for charity to be distributed to local communities.

Where:   Omar Ibn Al Khattab, downstairs in the Abu Dawood Hall

How Fastathon works:

• We will be inviting students of all faiths to sign up to fast for a day
• Businesses and individuals may either sponser a certain amount of money on behalf of each participant or make a flat pledge
• All the money raised is given to the ILM foundation who will use it to distribute personal items,food, hygiene products and medical screenings for the skid row community in Los Angeles.  The distribution event is known as Humanitarian Day.

Donations will be allocated towards preparations for the banquet at the end of the day(we expect approximately 300 guests), publicizing, and of course towards the actual charity.

There are many ways to get involved in the preparation for this great cause!

How you can help:

• Make a donation - You may make donations by writing a check, making a cash donation, or using our paypal button.  If you are writing a check, please make the check out to “USC Muslim Student Union”, and send it to:

All donations may be considered tax deductible charitable donations.  You will be mailed a 501(c)(3) letter upon receival of your donation.  Please state whether you would like your donation to  be used to help organize the program, to be used as a pledge to be given as charity, or if you don’t mind it being used for either one.
