The Muslim Student Union offers FREE Iftar dinners Monday-Thursday during the month of Ramadan. We plan to hold our first Iftar Monday, August 22^nd and last iftar on Monday, August 29^th.

Please join us at sunset as we break our fast and pray the Maghrib salah. We are expecting 80 to 120 students each night.

LOCATION

The iftars will be held on campus in the basement of the United University Church (817 West 34th Street). We would like to thank the USC Office of Religious Life for sponsoring this space for us the entire month.

Also, Isha and Tarawih prayers will be held every night at Masjid Omar ibn Al-Khattab(corner of Exposition and Vermont.)

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Set-up/Clean-up: Volunteers are needed to help set up iftars and clean up afterwards. Volunteers should be available 15-30 minutes before Maghrib to set-up and expect to spend at least 15-30 minutes cleaning up after services. If you would like to help, we will have a sheet to sign up for specific days and times, or you can e-mail us ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Money: Caterers tend to charge about $6.50 per person and $2.50 per person for other expenses(cup/plates/forks/spoons/napkins/ice/water/soda/dates) for a total of $9.00 per person. This adds up to between $900 to $1,080 per night. We need your support to host these Iftars. USC MSU is a 501(c)(3) IRS-sanctioned non-profit organization so all donations for this cause are tax-deductible charitable contributions. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
